About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete the entire solicitation cycle for various agency projects using federal, state, and local regulations, statutes, codes, and guidelines
- Verify and confirm requisitions and purchase orders from pre-issuance through pre-award, post-award, contract administration, and close-out
- Perform independent value analysis and cost-price reasonableness analysis
- Assist requesters with entering required data into the financial program for requisition approval
- Assist the budget group in evaluating system warnings for department budget errors
- Evaluate vendor solutions for best value to the agency
- Ensure procurement policies, processes, terms, and conditions are followed before purchase order approval
- Develop and maintain records of procurement contracts
- Assist managers and project managers with purchase plans and procurement procedures
- Recommend procurement of supplies and services
- Assist in coordinating and directing inventory/warehouse purchases
- Follow up with vendors to ensure purchase orders are received and fulfilled timely
- Provide feedback on vendor relations and performance
- Interface between accounts payable, receiving, and procurement to resolve conflicts and support timely information flow
- Provide procurement research, reports, and information storage and retrieval
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma required
- Five (5) years of experience in purchasing, procurement, warehousing, contract administration, or related office operations may be substituted for formal education
- Federal, state, local government, or public-sector procurement experience is preferred
- Proficiency using a computer, including Microsoft Office, the internet, spreadsheets, and databases
- Proficiency in procurement, requisitioning, and value/cost analysis
- Ability to research, troubleshoot, and resolve issues through system workflow procedures
- Demonstrated written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, email, and written correspondence
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, fractions, algebra, and geometry
- Ability to prioritize, classify, and manage tasks and time effectively
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a deadline-oriented office environment
- Some local travel is required
