About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, source, recruit, and screen qualified candidates to achieve hiring goals
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment plans and clarify required job skills
  • Create job descriptions and competencies and select appropriate sourcing strategies
  • Assist in developing interview questions at the request of hiring managers
  • Review resumes against job-related requirements
  • Conduct candidate phone screens or assessments based on qualifications
  • Present qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Develop and maintain candidate pipelines for high-volume staffing
  • Proactively identify active and passive talent through recruitment plans and creative marketing strategies
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate new hire onboarding activities
  • Build community relationships using social media, competitive research, employee referrals, diverse recruitment sources, local colleges, and other outreach methods
  • Track talent acquisition expenses and analyze recruiting strategy effectiveness
  • Perform other duties assigned in alignment with IndyGo’s strategic goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in Human Resource Management or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
  • Two (2) years of experience performing recruiting, interviewing, marketing, advertising composition, and public interaction functions preferred
  • Experience in a union-represented environment preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP / PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Previous experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and other Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) preferred
  • Proficiency in using social media, job boards, internet research, and sourcing techniques
  • Knowledge of selection methods, including employment testing, behavioral interviewing, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of human resources policies and processes, including recruiting and selection, employee labor relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and development
  • Proficiency in computer-based technologies, including Microsoft Office, software applications, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Ability to analyze data and apply findings to recruiting decisions
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required during peak hiring periods
  • Local travel may be required occasionally between various agency locations
