About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer
Draft, review, and negotiate customer, strategic partnership, government, research, licensing, technology development, SaaS, data, vendor, and procurement agreements
Structure bespoke, high-impact transactions aligned with long-term enterprise value
Provide risk-balanced guidance supporting revenue generation while protecting intellectual property, regulatory posture, and public company obligations
Support engagements involving government and regulated customers
Coordinate with internal stakeholders on export control and national security considerations
Support strategic collaborations, joint development initiatives, and other growth-oriented transactions
Partner with Finance and leadership on revenue recognition, disclosure controls, and public reporting requirements
Develop scalable legal processes, playbooks, and approval frameworks
Deliver training to commercial and technical teams on contracting standards, risk awareness, and compliance fundamentals
Support cross-functional corporate, regulatory, and governance matters

Requirements

What you’ll need

JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
6+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantial responsibility for complex commercial transactions
Significant experience negotiating complex commercial agreements
Experience in technology, advanced research, aerospace, defense, or regulated industries preferred
Top-tier law firm training strongly preferred
Comfort operating in a lean environment with high ownership and limited bureaucracy
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and competing priorities with precision
Strong executive communication skills and ability to translate legal risk into practical business guidance
Familiarity with government contracting frameworks such as FAR/DFARS is a plus but not required
Familiarity with ITAR/EAR is a plus
Ability to satisfy authorization requirements for access to technology controlled under U.S. export control laws without sponsorship for an export license may be required
