About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design, development, and improvement of application infrastructure, cloud environments, deployment processes, and DevOps practices
- Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
- Design and maintain scalable Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions
- Own AWS cloud infrastructure, including design, configuration, deployment, optimization, and support
- Manage and integrate application infrastructure across Windows and Mac environments
- Collaborate with software developers and technical stakeholders to translate infrastructure needs into technical solutions
- Investigate and resolve complex application, infrastructure, deployment, and production issues
- Support and improve MySQL 8, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and SQLite environments
- Establish and improve reliability, observability, monitoring, and disaster recovery practices
- Improve automation, infrastructure efficiency, reliability, security, and developer experience
- Contribute to application development and code changes when required
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing
- Evaluate new tools and technologies and make recommendations
- Participate in complex deployments, maintenance, and occasional after-hours support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant hands-on experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure, including designing and supporting production environments
- Strong experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and developer tooling
- Strong experience with MySQL 8, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and SQLite
- Strong experience working across Windows and Mac environments
- Strong understanding and practical experience with reliability, observability, monitoring, and disaster recovery
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex application, infrastructure, deployment, and production issues
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Ability to independently assess technical challenges and own implementation and resolution
- Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship
- Occasional after-hours support availability
- Nice to have: Microsoft Azure experience
- Nice to have: Several years of experience with the Microsoft Data Platform
- Nice to have: Ruby on Rails or other application development frameworks
- Nice to have: Experience contributing to application code and understanding application architecture
- Nice to have: Experience establishing or improving DevOps standards and processes
- Nice to have: Experience evaluating and introducing DevOps, cloud, automation, or developer productivity tools
