About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the primary People contact for Sequoia One
  • Manage day-to-day People queries and coordinate payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding and employment compliance through the PEO
  • Manage accurate and timely semi-monthly payroll inputs
  • Develop and maintain the US policy suite and employee handbook
  • Maintain US employee data in the HRIS and produce reporting and insights
  • Coordinate onboarding for US new joiners
  • Coordinate Form I-9 completion, employment eligibility verification and new-hire documentation
  • Manage offboarding, termination processes, final-pay requirements and exit processes
  • Administer federal and state leave programs, including FMLA
  • Manage workplace accommodations and workers’ compensation claims
  • Advise employees and managers on US benefits, policies and the employee handbook
  • Coordinate multi-state employment compliance, including state registrations, worker classifications, EEO-1 and ACA reporting
  • Provide headcount and workforce insights for office-capacity planning
  • Partner with the Office Manager to support the Tampa office employee experience
  • Coach US leaders through employee relations, performance and conduct matters
  • Support biannual performance reviews and pulse surveys across the US
  • Support US compensation benchmarking and salary-band development
  • Help embed company culture and values across the US business
  • Partner with L&D to evaluate learning initiatives and identify capability gaps
  • Report to the VP of People

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years’ experience in a broad People Generalist or People Partner role
  • Experience partnering with and coaching senior leaders
  • Strong multi-state US employment knowledge
  • Experience managing employee relations matters
  • Experience within a fast-growing global start-up or scale-up, ideally supporting GTM teams
  • Comfortable operating as a standalone or first-in-country People hire
  • Experience building scalable processes from scratch
  • Hands-on People Operations experience across payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding and 401(k) administration
  • Strong communication, influencing and judgement skills
  • Ability to operate independently and navigate ambiguity
  • High levels of discretion and confidence handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Strong HRIS capability
  • HiBob experience advantageous
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification advantageous
