About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Update payroll transaction records, including employee withholding and direct deposits, in in-house systems.
- Review and/or enter field staff timesheets against customer payroll systems and paper timesheets to ensure accurate pay and billing.
- Monitor multiple Outlook inboxes daily and respond promptly and professionally to internal and field staff.
- Research timesheet and payroll issues.
- Back up other payroll team members’ duties as needed.
- Assist team members with payroll on processing days.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teammates and leaders.
- Maintain positive working relationships with internal staff, field staff, and external customers/clients.
- Use proper email etiquette.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum education requirement is a High School Diploma.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience, preferably in an in-house payroll processing environment.
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare and/or staffing environment or related experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll-related practices including taxes and withholding.
- Working knowledge and experience working within ADP WorkforceNow and Bullhorn/BTE preferred.
- Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor during high-stress situations.
- Effective prioritization and multitasking skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
- Ability to use tact, discretion/confidentiality, and independent judgment to analyze and resolve work problems.
- Ability to use sensory skills to communicate and interact through telephone, email, video conference, and face-to-face contact.
- Ability to use office equipment including computer, copier, scanner, camera, phone, headset, keyboard, and mouse.
- Ability to sit for extended periods at a keyboard and workstation.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
