About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Interact directly with small and medium customers
- Provide ingredient recommendations for food and beverage applications
- Manage customers directly and develop new opportunities
- Work across the portfolio, including starches, plant-based proteins, sugar-reduction solutions and hydrocolloids
- Assist with prospecting, account research, CRM management, pipeline tracking and sales operations activities
- Support business development, customer engagement and sales strategy
- Collaborate with Field Sales, Technical Service, R&D and Customer Service
- Participate in on-the-job training and support within the Virtual Sales Team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s degree program
- Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food or Chemical Engineering or a related field is preferred
- Minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 is preferred
- Must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer internship term
- Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
- Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas or provide this position as OPT or CPT
- Experience with hands-on food concept development using laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions is preferred
- Excellent planning skills; highly organized, detail oriented and able to multitask
- Familiarity with experimental design, statistical data analysis and interpretation of results
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable transportation required to get to and from the facility each work day
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
