About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Greet and welcome patients and visitors
- Register patients, collect demographic and billing data, and verify insurance eligibility
- Collect and process patient payments using the Zirmed payment system
- Provide payment estimates and answer patient questions
- Answer phones and assist callers
- Schedule walk-in patient exams
- Prepare exam paperwork and link orders to patient exams
- Obtain or clarify missing orders from referring offices
- Check in interpreters through language services
- Generate exam reports and document, scan, and attach paperwork to patient accession numbers
- Burn exams and reports to CDs or flash drives for patients and referring offices
- Coordinate FedEx next-day mail requests
- Resolve image exceptions and push images to other facilities
- Assist with breast procedure consent forms and medical record requests
- Support mammography and hospital department requests as applicable
- Work with departments to ensure smooth patient flow and care
- Merge accounts, resolve exceptions, and verify ICD-10 codes for walk-in exams
- Rotate to other shifts and locations as needed
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED required
- One year of clerical experience is preferred
- Anatomy and medical terminology preferred
- Medical office experience preferred
- Understanding of all procedures to be read by radiologist preferred
- Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Workday, Qgenda, Webex, Intellispace PACS, EPIC, PayNav, Medicalis, and Internet/Intranet highly desired
- Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840
- Must not be included on the Department of Health & Human Services OIG List of Excluded Individuals
- Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented, organized, able to multitask, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA, PHI, health and safety, and company policies
- Ability to access multiple worksites in a timely manner
- Attendance is required
