About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Director of Quality with data collection and analytics related to clinical outcomes, health care service utilization, and customer satisfaction
  • Lead enterprise-wide ongoing and ad hoc data projects for the Quality Department
  • Synthesize claims, service utilization, electronic medical records, enrollment, incidents, and grievances data
  • Develop and execute analyses supporting clinical quality improvement, care management, and utilization management
  • Apply nationally recognized health care quality metrics and benchmarking strategies
  • Perform concurrent reviews and retrospective analyses of patient records and claims data to identify quality improvement opportunities
  • Develop and maintain an organization-wide quality data repository as a source of truth
  • Develop, maintain, and improve KPI dashboards for senior management
  • Manage external contractors, including HEDIS abstractors and CAHPS survey organizations
  • Ensure accurate and timely regulatory data reporting
  • Generate analyses and reports for senior leadership, Board members, clinicians, and the general public
  • Present findings orally, in writing, and visually to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Serve as organization-wide subject matter expert on measurement and analysis methods
  • Collaborate with leadership and quality personnel to assess data needs, advise on trends, and coordinate process-improvement teams
  • Attend InnovAge facilities and/or participant homes as necessary to perform job duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in research, statistics, health administration, or a related field from an accredited college/university
  • State-issued driver’s license, personal transportation, good driving record, and auto insurance as required by law
  • Minimum of three years of experience with data analysis
  • Minimum of three years of working experience with nationally recognized health care metrics and performance measurement strategies
  • Minimum of three years of experience generating accurate, easily understood data analyses and presenting results orally, in writing, and in graphs
  • Working knowledge of healthcare industry measures, including CAHPS, HEDIS, and other common health care metrics
  • Experience obtaining and manipulating health care claims, clinical values, enrollment, and survey data
  • Mastery of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced Excel, Access, SQL, and database skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, VBA, and macros
  • Experience with Minitab, SPSS, SAS, MS Access, and/or QI Macros
  • Ability to learn specific software and new applications quickly
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulations and other documents
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
  • Must be open to relocation based on business necessity
  • Travel required, including overnight travel out of state
