About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Staff Accountant with daily revenue accounting, accounts receivable, cash application, payment processing, banking, and reconciliation activities
  • Enter or import daily revenue and accounts receivable transactions into the accounting system
  • Post and apply cash, check, and credit card payments
  • Reconcile daily banking and cash activity and research unreconciled or outstanding deposits
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, deposit variances, and other accounting issues
  • Monitor and organize the shared accounting inbox and respond to or route requests
  • Prepare banking, revenue, payment, and transaction documentation
  • Review and analyze credit card chargebacks and coordinate follow-up
  • Prepare check deposits and related journal entries
  • Gather, download, and organize data for financial schedules, reconciliations, and reports
  • Provide backup support for other accounting functions and recurring processes
  • Follow accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Provide responsive, professional, and courteous service to colleagues and veterinary practice teams
  • Participate in special projects and other accounting-related activities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of accounting, revenue accounting, accounts receivable, cash application, payment processing, bookkeeping, or related administrative experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data and transactions
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-volume, multi-location environment
  • Strong problem-solving and research skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with Finance, Operations, and veterinary practice colleagues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience working with an ERP or accounting system preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial and business information
  • Proactive approach and willingness to support the team when needed
