About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Instacart’s contract management function and forge supplier partnerships
Enforce enterprise-wide procurement contracting strategy, governance, and execution
Report to the Head of Procurement
Drive business-term negotiations and partner with Legal and Third Party Review (TPRM)
Develop and enforce procurement contract policies, playbooks, and templates
Maintain documentation supporting SOX and internal audit processes
Track and report KPIs including contract cycle time and compliance rates
Lead strategic, high-value, and complex contracts through the full procurement contract lifecycle
Negotiate SLAs, scope, exit clauses, payment terms, and auto-renewals
Gather business requirements and translate them into enforceable contract language
Develop criteria and pre-approved clause libraries with Legal to reduce redline cycles
Maintain fallback positions and escalate redlines outside approved positions for Legal review

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or related field; JD strongly preferred
10+ years in procurement/contract management
Proven track record closing complex, multi-year deals with global Tier-1 suppliers
Deep experience embedding information security and data privacy terms into commercial agreements
Prior in-house collaboration with General Counsel and CISO offices
Strong negotiation skills and ability to articulate ROI of contractual positions
Proficiency with CLM platforms, including Ironclad
Proficiency with procurement platforms, including Zip
Executive presence with exceptional communication, influence, and change-management capabilities
Experience in a high-growth tech or marketplace environment, such as e-commerce or SaaS platforms, preferred
