About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Co-own the technical roadmap for Ads Data Solutions Engineering
Lead architecture for reusable, scalable systems across off-platform workflows, cleanrooms, taxonomy automation, and the Ads Data Solutions Platform
Modernize abstractions, testing, CI/CD, observability, and cost efficiency
Drive cross-team initiatives, align stakeholders, and manage dependencies
Expand external advertising platform integrations and build privacy-forward activation, identity, and measurement workflows
Extend cleanroom orchestration and governance tooling, reusable query templates, and partner configurations
Lead Ads Taxonomy intake automation and release workflow improvements
Support platform modernization, developer tooling, on-call, and SLO strategy
Use AI-assisted tools for design, coding, testing, and documentation; define team prompt patterns and workflows
Translate ambiguous requirements into phased delivery with clear SLAs/SLOs
Champion security-by-design, data governance, and GDPR/CCPA privacy compliance
Mentor engineers up to L5 and set code quality and review standards
Build partnerships across Ads Manager, Measurement Science, Data Platform, Privacy/Legal, and external platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of software engineering experience delivering and operating large-scale backend/data systems; typically 10+ for this level
Proven experience leading cross-team projects and architectural decisions
Strong Python and one of Ruby or Go
Experience with REST/gRPC services and third-party API integrations
Experience with DBT, Airflow, Spark/Databricks, advanced SQL, and performance tuning
Snowflake and AWS experience
Experience with workflow orchestration and event-driven patterns
Experience with ad-tech/programmatic and measurement integrations
Experience with cleanrooms, identity/matching, and deconfliction
Working knowledge of GDPR/CCPA privacy and compliance practices
CI/CD, containers, test strategy, observability, incident readiness, and SLO thinking
Recent hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools
Experience defining reusable AI prompts/workflows and contributing to AI-enabled internal tools or automation
Ability to evaluate AI versus deterministic systems; familiarity with evaluation, guardrails, and AI security/privacy implications
Clear technical writing, stakeholder management, and consensus-building ability
