About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape Insulet’s innovation portfolio by driving strategic product development and technology initiatives
- Translate corporate strategy into execution from concept through commercialization
- Lead corporate functional groups and external development partners in program development and technology implementation
- Define program scope, objectives, goals, resources, and execution plans
- Provide global oversight from project inception through production and commercial launch
- Lead Program Managers and align project elements and milestones with corporate strategies and business objectives
- Collaborate with CTO leadership to align EPMO activities with strategic goals
- Lead cross-functional development programs and sustaining activities for relevant products
- Establish product development program goals, scope, resources, and execution plans with functional leadership
- Govern and oversee product development through the Product Development Team, communicating status and escalating and mitigating risks
- Lead the Enterprise Program Management Office and align cross-functional initiatives with business strategies
- Direct program teams accountable for scope, schedule, resources, delivery, and execution
- Hire, manage, and mentor staff for individual development and leadership
- Provide an unbiased, data-driven perspective on program status and risks
- Perform additional duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 12+ years of related experience in product development within related field
- Proven record of product development and implementation in electro-mechanic and/or software products
- Experience managing suppliers, external partners, and internal staff at all levels
- Experience in the medical device industry with knowledge related to the FDA design control process
- Ability to influence and manage others as direct reports and matrix reports
- Effective collaboration with strong IQ/EQ
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to anticipate major challenges for hardware and software product development
- Ability to organize and triage priorities
- Ability to effectively handle multiple efforts simultaneously
- National and international travel as required, anticipated at approximately 20%
