About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead strategic product development programs from concept through commercial launch
Lead cross-functional teams and external development partners
Manage segment product development and sustaining priorities by defining scope, objectives, goals, and execution plans
Lead high-value strategic programs from project inception through production and commercial launch
Provide leadership to Program Managers and work with functional group management to ensure project elements and milestones are met
Partner with segment leadership to align EPMO activities with strategic goals
Initiate and lead cross-functional development programs and sustaining activities for relevant products
Establish product development program goals, scope, resources, and execution plans with functional leaders
Lead governance and oversight through the Portfolio Decision Team; communicate status and escalate and mitigate risks
Provide leadership to the Enterprise Program Management Office to align Program Managers and cross-functional initiatives with business strategies
Direct program teams with accountability for scope, schedule, resources, delivery, and execution
Serve as overall program leader for large strategic programs when assigned, ensuring on-time and budget-compliant delivery
Hire, manage, and mentor staff for individual development and leadership
Provide an unbiased, data-driven perspective on program status and risks
Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in related field
12+ years of related experience in product development within related field
Proven record of product development and implementation in electro-mechanic and/or software products
Experience managing suppliers, external partners, and internal staff at all levels
Experience in the medical device industry with knowledge related to the FDA design control process
National and international travel as required, anticipated at approximately 20%
Preferred: Master’s or PhD degree in related field
Preferred: 15+ years of related experience in product development within related field
Ability to influence and manage direct and matrix reports
Effective collaboration with strong IQ/EQ
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to anticipate major challenges for hardware and software product development
Ability to organize and triage priorities
Ability to handle multiple efforts simultaneously
