About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the development and lead execution of a global real-world evidence strategy supporting Insulet’s product portfolio and product development
- Serve as a technical expert identifying evidence needs and how research studies and real-world data support product development and commercialization
- Develop, maintain, and expand a portfolio of real-world data research activities
- Generate timely, strategic evidence demonstrating product benefits
- Define research questions, data sources, study designs, and analytical approaches
- Draft and critically appraise study protocols, statistical analysis plans, reports, and manuscripts
- Identify and contact external stakeholders and key opinion leaders for scientific advice and collaboration
- Collaborate with development, commercial, market access, safety, legal, regulatory, and medical affairs teams
- Ensure scientific rigor across research
- Support development and refinement of internal procedures, workflows, and best practices
- Lead and mentor a team and connect with data analytics and clinical research teams
- Provide biostatistical support to prospective clinical trials, including study design, sample size and power calculations, randomization, endpoint definitions, statistical analysis plans, and interpretation/reporting of results
- Communicate results to internal stakeholders and support scientific presentations and publications
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8 to 10 years experience working with clinical data analysis or real-world data analysis, including medical strategy, study design, execution, and analysis
- Post-graduate degree (PharmD, MD or PhD) in a related field would be preferred
- Master in public health or related degree with relevant experience will be considered
- Detailed understanding of diabetes and diabetes treatment would be an asset
- Experience with a broad range of research projects in academia, at a contract research organization, or in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of RWD and application of RWD to observational research
- Track record of leading cross-functional teams and executing multiple research projects with minimal supervision
- Experience drafting study protocols and statistical analysis plans
- Understanding of epidemiologic research methods
- Proficiency in clinical trial biostatistics, including hypothesis testing, sample size and power estimation, randomization, handling of missing data, ICH E9, and applicable regulatory expectations
- Hands-on experience with statistical programming, such as SAS, R, or Python
- Ability to effectively communicate statistical methodology and analysis results
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Travel to major conferences and team meetings, including internationally, up to 15%
- Ability to work on-site from an Insulet office as part of hybrid arrangements
