About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise day-to-day activities and priorities of subrogation staff
- Assess and manage claims assignments and provide guidance on subrogated claim files
- Develop and execute subrogation strategies
- Review potential files and assess collection viability
- Monitor and track subrogation recoveries
- Review and analyze claim reports to identify trends
- Recommend strategies to correct adverse trends
- Review and document recommendations for subrogated claims
- Evaluate, negotiate and settle claims exceeding staff authority levels
- Manage vendor relationships, subrogation attorneys, experts and TPAs
- Manage unit staffing issues and performance management activities
- Independently manage an inventory of subrogation files within assigned authority
- Develop and deliver training and cross-training plans
- Apply subrogation regulatory and legal knowledge
- Meet internal and external customer needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 5-7 years of subrogation experience
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong professional knowledge of subrogation regulatory and legal environments
- Ability to supervise subrogation staff and manage claims assignments
- Ability to evaluate, negotiate and settle subrogated claims
- Ability to manage vendor relationships, subrogation attorneys, experts and TPAs
- Ability to identify staff skill gaps and establish training needs
