About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze information, interpret insurance policy wordings, determine coverage, and assess damage on complex residential total losses or complex scope-and-repair claims
  • Develop action plans to ensure all aspects of claims are addressed
  • Manage financial components of claims, including setting reserves and ensuring prompt, equitable settlements according to Intact policies and standards
  • Provide clear and concise information and direction to vendors
  • Work with consultants, appraisers, engineers, and other experts to drive claim progress
  • Provide superior customer service to external and internal customers
  • Answer queries related to the claims process
  • Stay current on Intact insurance products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and service standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of property claims-handling experience, including major-loss residential files
  • Catastrophe experience is an asset
  • Adaptable and agile in a rapidly evolving business
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for customer service
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Forward-thinker who can foster new ideas
  • Superior organizational skills and results-driven
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict-management skills
  • Ability to learn and work effectively in a hybrid environment
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
