About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions for the Liability and Claims Legal (LCC) department, primarily in Databricks
  • Design, produce, and publish reports for stakeholders across the organization
  • Monitor, identify, and analyze performance trends, explain variances, and make recommendations to drive results and productivity
  • Consolidate data from multiple sources while ensuring quality, integrity, and reliability
  • Create and maintain a data inventory and support tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Identify new data sources and data elements to enrich analysis of performance and business trends
  • Analyze, synthesize, and present information clearly for varied LCC audiences
  • Produce and maintain documentation supporting training, best practices, and process standardization
  • Collaborate with claims and LCC project teams to develop Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Respond to ad hoc analysis and reporting needs
  • Work with Actuarial, CDAT, and LCC project manager teams
  • Contribute to the evolution, modernization, and adoption of Databricks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, data science, actuarial science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience —required
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL —required
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, including Power BI and DAX —required
  • Experience with artificial intelligence agents and tools such as ChatGPT, Cortex Code (Snowflake), Rovo (Confluence), or comparable solutions —required
  • Experience with GitHub and code management and control practices —required
  • Solid understanding of data governance, privacy, and security principles
  • Experience with Confluence or other knowledge management platforms
  • Experience in data modeling, transformation, and integration
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouses, including Snowflake and Databricks
  • Strong knowledge of data quality, validation, and documentation practices
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Frequent interactions with colleagues across the country
  • Bilingualism (English/French) required for candidates located in Quebec
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Experience with data pipelines and process orchestration is an asset
  • Experience in actuarial science, insurance, or claims is an asset
  • Knowledge of modern analytics environments and data automation solutions is an asset
