About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide HR coaching and consulting to a fast-paced operational leadership team in the Ontario Claims Contact Centre
- Provide strategic HR solutions to business partners as part of a national HR Claims team
- Advise regional business groups on people practices, trends, legislation, and IFC values
- Collect information, identify issues and opportunities, and proactively propose value-added solutions
- Manage employee relations and performance matters end-to-end while ensuring fair, consistent outcomes and risk management
- Coach leaders to build confidence and capability
- Drive talent, succession, and leadership development strategies
- Build business-unit engagement plans using engagement, attrition, and employee-relations data
- Participate in integrity and respect-in-the-workplace investigations and coach leaders on conflict resolution
- Facilitate focus groups, training workshops, and information sessions
- Collaborate with leaders on annual HR cycles
- Use market research and internal data analysis to anticipate business needs and craft proactive HR strategies
- Participate in regional or national projects and deploy corporate initiatives and programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-secondary diploma or degree with a Human Resources specialization, or a combination of education and work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR consulting/business partner role
- Minimum of 2 years focused on employee relations in a high-volume, fast-paced contact centre environment
- Experience in employee relations and change management
- Strong written and verbal communication, influence, and interpersonal skills
- Technical expertise in Human Resources management and employment legislation
- Knowledge of employee relations, performance management, talent management, disability management, engagement, and compensation best practices
- Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with business partners at various organizational levels
- Critical and strategic thinking to solve operational and complex problems
- Flexible, agile, and resilient approach to a dynamic work environment
- CHRP and/or CHRL designation completed or in progress is considered an asset
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- No Canadian work experience required
