About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build productive and engaged teams by fostering personal and technical skills development and collaboration
  • Manage projects by understanding business partners’ strategies, priorities and challenges
  • Assess capabilities to recommend appropriate solutions and deliver expected value
  • Manage stakeholders and maintain relationships with internal and external collaborators

  • Evolve agile practices based on lessons learned throughout the end-to-end development lifecycle
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and challenge the status quo
  • Develop and maintain the strategic demand plan, including deliverables, dependencies, timelines, costs and resource assignments
  • Build, lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including Project Managers, Scrum Masters and Project Control Officers, through direct and/or indirect supervision
  • Prepare project reports covering progress, issues, costs and closure while adhering to performance indicators
  • Lead project risk management and manage project delivery
  • Maintain dashboards throughout the program/project lifecycle
  • Monitor industry trends and technology innovation, identify opportunities and suggest solutions
  • Staff initiatives with Software Engineering Managers and Project Managers while balancing organizational needs with career goals
  • Anticipate and resolve problems and difficult situations
  • Be accountable for production, security and governance of the sector’s IT systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology/software engineering or any combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Experience leading IT development initiatives
  • Experience in continuous delivery management
  • Experience developing SaaS solutions
  • Experience in change management and transformation
  • Experience managing teams
  • Project management skills, including planning, budget and timeline management, scope management, risk management, timely decision-making and building effective teams
  • Leadership
  • Bilingualism (French/English), with regular interaction with colleagues across Canada
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work experience required
  • Must maintain work eligibility throughout employment
  • Thorough grasp of all aspects of software development
