About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive and support underwriting excellence within assigned Specialty Lines verticals through collaborative referrals, underwriting guideline development, product governance and development, and large-loss reviews
- Support and strengthen portfolio governance and review through established frameworks, audits, and authority statements
- Manage employee performance and contribute to the salary review process
- Hold regular team meetings to communicate corporate and branch updates and initiatives
- Support and manage key projects and Specialty Lines priorities
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to execute joint initiatives and projects successfully
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience
- University and/or College Degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience
- Previous experience in Specialty Lines
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
- Previous supervisory experience an asset
- Sound knowledge of Commercial & Specialty lines insurance; risk-managed property exposures considered a strong asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required to interact regularly with English-speaking colleagues across Canada
- Must be eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work experience required
