About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct risk assessments on new and prospective business
- Determine accurate replacement costs, risk acceptability and loss potential
- Formulate recommendations and solutions tailored to each risk and circumstance
- Deliver an effortless customer experience and act as a brand champion for Intact Prestige
- Collaborate with brokers, customers and internal departments
- Develop relationships with local contractors and interview them about construction cost factors and trends
- Identify and evaluate finishes and features of high-valued residential properties
- Physically inspect, measure and photograph structures to update assessments
- Monitor construction forecasts, building costs, building codes, territory trends and unacceptable risk characteristics
- Provide risk, exposure and territory-specific recommendations and explain product advantages
- Advise stakeholders on loss prevention and mitigation solutions
- Assist underwriters with new business acquisition and account retention
- Identify coverage gaps and communicate them to Underwriting
- Service a large territory across Ontario with frequent travel and overnight trips
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 3 years of property risk assessment, appraisal and loss prevention experience
- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
- Proven organizational and time management skills
- Strong ability to identify different types and styles of construction, fire protection and unique features in residential homes
- Ability to read and understand architectural and builder plans preferred
- Ability to work within monthly deadlines and a demanding travel schedule
- Frequent travel within Ontario, including overnight trips
- Flexible, autonomous working hours, 35 hours per week
- Familiarity with architectural drawing software is an asset
- CIP and CRM designation preferred
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment; Intact does not provide immigration sponsorship
