About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support customers who have experienced commercial property damage or loss through the claims process from first notice to resolution
  • Coordinate with vendors, independent adjusters, and subject-matter experts
  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle commercial property claims efficiently and accurately
  • Analyze information, interpret insurance policy wordings, determine coverage, and assess damage
  • Develop action plans to address all aspects of claims
  • Manage claim finances, including setting reserves and ensuring prompt and equitable settlements
  • Provide clear and concise information and direction to vendors
  • Work with appraisers, engineers, and other experts to progress claims
  • Provide superior customer service to external and internal customers and answer claims-process queries
  • Stay current on Intact insurance products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3 years of adjusting experience for the Senior role
  • Commercial adjusting experience considered an asset
  • Willingness to learn and desire to build a career in insurance
  • Adaptable and agile in a rapidly evolving business
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for customer service
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Forward thinker able to foster new ideas
  • Superior organizational skills and results-driven
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
  • Candidates are solely responsible for maintaining work eligibility in Canada
