About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical advice and consultation to underwriters, adjusters, and brokers on risk management and loss prevention for commercial automobile and trucking accounts
  • Conduct investigations and evaluations of commercial auto and trucking insurance operations for existing and potential business
  • Provide verbal and written technical recommendations to improve accounts
  • Provide service to policyholders, brokers, underwriters, adjusters, managers, and other internal stakeholders
  • Participate in developing and implementing risk control and prevention training programs
  • Answer technical questions and potentially provide training sessions to policyholders, underwriters, and brokers
  • Maintain expertise in commercial auto and trucking insurance operations
  • Keep current with provincial and state regulations and industry standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College degree or sufficient experience in the trucking or insurance industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Ontario CVOR, SAFER, USDOT, and related systems
  • 3 to 5 years of experience and subject matter expertise assessing commercial vehicle and trucking accounts
  • Knowledge of trucking-industry technology, including telematics, electronic records (ELDs), and dash cams
  • Experience in claims, underwriting, risk control, or safety related to commercial auto or trucking
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to solve problems, work independently, and work as part of a team
  • Customer- and results-oriented
  • Eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment; Intact does not provide immigration sponsorship
