About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the migration of Guidewire BillingCenter to the Cloud SaaS version
- Enhance and develop functionalities that meet users’ needs
- Design solutions, analyze issues, and recommend appropriate approaches
- Prepare work effort estimates for assigned tasks
- Program, test, debug, and document developed solutions
- Participate in developing Java applications and services in an Agile environment
- Work closely with Quality Assurance teams, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders
- Participate in the developer community and contribute to continuous improvement of practices, tools, and processes
- Promote and apply software development best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a combination of relevant education and experience
- At least two years of experience developing on one of the Guidewire platforms
- Strong experience with Java development
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
- Bilingualism required in French and English
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Guidewire certifications are an asset
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud SaaS is an asset
- Experience migrating or upgrading a Guidewire platform is an asset
- Experience with Guidewire BillingCenter is an asset
- Experience with Spring Boot is an asset
- Experience with Cucumber and RestAssured is an asset
- Experience with Git is an asset
- Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence is an asset
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines is an asset
- Experience working in an Agile environment is an asset
- Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry is an asset
- Knowledge of billing and collection processes is an asset
- Strong team spirit, commitment, and collaborative attitude
