Key responsibilities & impact

Tend production machines such as spray booth, clicker press, dip machine, presses, rubber mills, sander, and laminator
Operate rubber mills and hydraulic presses in the rubber processing area
Operate spray booth and dip tank in the foam processing area
Operate laminator and clicker press to die cut material
Perform touch labor to clean and process material
Operate sander and critically measure material thickness
Read job specifications and procedures to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
Maintain accurate process logs of all activities
Push buttons or depress pedals to activate machines
Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions
Measure workpiece dimensions to determine machine-operation accuracy
Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces
Set up and break down processes on equipment
Operate any equipment needed to perform the job
Detect and report defective material or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Follow all safety guidelines and rules
Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three to six months’ related experience and/or training
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
Ability to read and interpret metal rules
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Able to communicate well with supervisor and follow work instructions
Familiarity with basic machine functions
Ability to accurately work with scales
Ability to safely work with cutting knives and steel rule dies
Ability to read job specifications and procedures
Ability to work overtime to meet the production schedule
Must be a “U.S. person” as defined by ITAR, including U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees
