About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure accurate revenue capture, payer compliance, and optimized reimbursement for the health system
  • Investigate and analyze high-impact billing edits, recurring revenue discrepancies, and coding/documentation risks
  • Identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions
  • Lead in-depth charge capture reviews and collaborate with departments to improve documentation, charging practices, and revenue accuracy
  • Develop, analyze, and present dashboards and reports on denial trends, charge lag, missed charges, net revenue performance, and other key revenue metrics
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses for revenue improvement proposals, workflow redesigns, and operational strategies
  • Participate in payer and internal audits; prepare documentation, support responses, and assist in corrective action planning
  • Partner with Compliance and CDM teams to monitor risks, implement billing corrections, and support enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Serve as designated analyst for assigned high-volume or complex clinical service lines
  • Lead quarterly reviews with operational leaders, presenting findings, trends, risks, and improvement opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in revenue cycle, billing compliance, healthcare reimbursement, or financial analysis and one of the listed certifications, OR eight (8) years of progressive experience in revenue cycle, billing compliance, healthcare reimbursement, or healthcare financial analysis in lieu of education and certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, or related field in lieu of experience and certifications
  • AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, CMC, AHIMA-RHIT, or AHIMA-RHIA in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of hospital and physician billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies
  • Proficiency in revenue cycle systems (Epic preferred), Excel, and data visualization/reporting tools
  • Ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and present findings clearly
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to explain complex revenue issues to clinical and operational leaders
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives that improve charge capture, reduce denials, and strengthen compliance
  • Analytical problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Compliance, CDM, Clinical, and Operational leadership
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, use standard office equipment, and communicate verbally
  • Occasional travel between system facilities may be required
