About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with DevOps engineers and the development team to deploy and maintain application infrastructure
Assist in developing and supporting tooling to streamline product deployment and maintenance
Use GitHub, Jenkins, and Chef to deploy applications from development through production
Support in-house and third-party applications, including deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting
Build and manage automation pipelines for application deployment and maintenance
Manage Linux servers via the command line
Create monitoring dashboards and alerts in Grafana using Prometheus and Alertmanager
Document processes and best practices
Participate in incident resolution through an on-call rotation

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or a related field
Strong understanding of the Linux operating system and comfort working at the command line
Experience using Chef or other configuration management tools to automate server and application creation and maintenance
Ability to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins
Solid understanding of networking principles, including DNS, TCP/UDP, firewalls, and load balancers
Foundational understanding of security best practices
Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, Python, or Go
Nice to have: experience with Kubernetes and Helm templating
Nice to have: experience with real-time voice/video protocols such as SIP and RTP
Nice to have: familiarity with AWS
Nice to have: experience with Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, MySQL, and Ansible
Nice to have: experience working with globally distributed and remote teams
