About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work closely with development leads in Intermedia’s Voice Application team
Extend and enhance products with new features and greater performance
Design and execute automated functional, performance, load, and stress tests
Design and modify test frameworks covering Intermedia’s VoIP-based phone service and XMPP-based chat/presence service
Analyze product design and requirements specifications
Translate specifications into a detailed, methodical testing strategy
Develop functional automation tests from prepared test cases
Develop performance, load, and stress tests
Improve functional and load-testing frameworks
Document, report, and track software defects using Jira
Support planned QA work including WhatsApp templates, dark mode, partial contacts in chat, voicemail federated-module rewrite, international expansion and audio tones, codec prioritization, SMS spam blocking, ex-directory and visibility groups, Copy-to-Dial, Omnissa and Horizon regression, and Electron upgrade

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional QA experience in a complex software development environment
Experience writing automated tests using Python and C
Experience working with legacy code
Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Basic knowledge of network technology, including tcpdump, Wireshark, and TCP/IP
Experience testing server applications
Hands-on experience testing in Linux
Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Lua (desired)
Telco/VoIP experience (desired)
Familiarity with SIP and XMPP protocols (desired)
Experience with JavaScript and NodeJS (desired)
Experience managing Jenkins / CI Pipelines (desired)
