About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage medium-sized projects across various technical areas
- Ensure project delivery within scope, quality, timelines, and budget
- Build relationships with partners, public services, and client departments
- Identify stakeholders and ensure communication, coordination, and alignment
- Review project briefs and vision documents to identify needs, objectives, challenges, and priorities
- Support needs assessments, surveys, and data collection
- Develop and review feasibility studies and project proposals
- Define project activities, outcomes, resources, costs, timelines, and alternatives
- Establish implementation methodologies in line with project management policies and guidelines
- Develop technical designs and review consultants’ work plans and deliverables
- Facilitate agreements, procurement, contracts, and project implementation
- Coordinate project teams and monitor progress
- Manage changes to scope, timelines, and budgets
- Identify, assess, and escalate project risks and issues
- Implement corrective actions
- Provide client communication and training for facilities, equipment, and services
- Coordinate commissioning, handover, and transition to clients or end users
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting and maintain project documentation
- Contribute to knowledge management and share technical resources and lessons learned
- Lead and support team performance and development through supervision, coaching, feedback, coordination, and people management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Open to Myanmar nationality only
- University degree (or equivalent) and qualifying experience in Hydraulics, Electromechanics, Civil or Environmental, or related fields
- 6 to 9 years of professional experience in project management in a thematic related to public health engineering
- At least 2 years of experience in the WaSH sector
- Proven project management and team leadership experience
- One year or more of overseas experience is considered an asset
- Excellent command of English
- Full proficiency in the Myanmar language
- Strong computer and drawing software proficiency
- Experience implementing emergency responses is an asset
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in armed conflict-affected and remote areas
- Strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
