About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement, run, and monitor health programs in a specific geographic area or field of activities
- Follow up on Primary Health Care and Hospitals activities, dedicating up to 60% of the role to these activities
- Conduct assessments and regular field visits for First Aid and Pre-Hospital Emergency Care activities
- Support assessment, preparation, coordination, and delivery of First Aid and Pre-Hospital Emergency Care trainings and workshops
- Support preparation and interpretation during workshops, seminars, and training sessions
- Participate in and regularly update mapping of health facilities and maintain networking lists
- Analyze statistical information, identify patterns, and provide recommendations to improve assistance to weapon-wounded patients
- Implement and maintain health databases and records/registrations for hospital program follow-up
- Maintain regular contact with, visit, assess, and support primary health care facilities
- Participate in developing Ukraine’s primary health care strategy
- Facilitate translation for mobile staff, contact with authorities, and correspondence follow-up
- Prepare and distribute medical stock according to operational priorities and ICRC logistics procedures
- Oversee activities with a degree of autonomy based on skills and experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- Degree in medicine or nursing
- License/certificate to practice in Ukraine
- 5 to 6 years’ work experience, including two years of clinical experience
- At least 3 years of humanitarian experience
- Excellent connections with local health authorities and groups of interest for the ICRC is desirable
- Excellent knowledge of the assigned geographic area is an asset
- Proven program management skills and team-building competencies
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
- Confidence in managing projects and staff
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work within a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary team
- English CV required
