About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and manage a comprehensive program of work focused on external partnerships supporting HDRN’s mission and strategic goals
  • Drive business opportunities for HDRN and ICES by identifying and pursuing partnership projects enabling multi-regional health data studies
  • Develop and operationalize the HDRN Canada Partnerships Framework, the Health Data Research Alliance, and other major partnership initiatives
  • Lead multidisciplinary, multi-jurisdictional teams across Canada to deliver complex partnership projects on time and within budget
  • Manage project lifecycles, including scope definition, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation
  • Ensure operational alignment with the HDRN corporate team
  • Design and manage performance tracking tools and frameworks, and report partnership outcomes and impacts
  • Analyze HDRN interest holders and collaborate on CRM development and maintenance
  • Produce technical reports, project updates, and executive briefing notes
  • Represent ICES and HDRN at forums, panels, and conferences
  • Provide secretariat support to the HDR Alliance and associated events
  • Identify collective action projects, organize project teams, and facilitate resourcing and execution
  • Promote the HDR Alliance to national and international audiences
  • Identify and cultivate prospective partners and strengthen existing bilateral relationships
  • Support key groups through membership management, chair support, agenda planning, and meeting summaries
  • Conduct strategic horizon scanning and recommend new areas for action
  • Translate the HDRN Strategic Plan into an actionable roadmap
  • Align with the HDRN Data Services Development Team to develop partnerships
  • Mentor and train HDRN Partnerships department members
  • Participate in team discussions and initiatives that enhance department effectiveness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in field relevant to health research
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, ideally within the health care or health services research sectors
  • Experience working with major health, research and data partners within Ontario or elsewhere
  • Experience working with researchers and in extended collaborative networks
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary and network wide project teams
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects within tight timelines
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of health services research, including use of administrative data for health systems evaluation and monitoring
  • Strong initiative, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of partnership development strategies
  • Security clearance may be required
  • Master’s degree in public health, health services research or related field is preferred
  • Management experience in a health research context is helpful but not required
  • Experience in health planning, public policy, and government relations is an asset
  • Professional experience engaging with inter-provincial and inter-territorial health research and data organizations
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic planning and program implementation processes
  • French oral and written skills are preferred
