About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain enterprise project management standards and best practices for strategic initiatives
- Promote disciplined planning, prioritization, risk management, communication, change management, feedback loops, and measurement
- Partner with Pathway and Regional Portfolio Managers to embed standards and increase organizational maturity
- Assess and simplify practices that create unnecessary burden
- Develop AI-enabled tools and approaches for project planning, portfolio reviews, and integrated planning
- Establish processes for estimating Business as Usual, identifying dependencies, and setting capacity thresholds
- Advise Pathway and Regional Portfolio Managers on portfolio development and management
- Build a connected community of Portfolio Managers across IJM
- Design and lead workplan integration across pathways, regions, and countries
- Oversee governance of the Enterprise Calendar for travel, training, and change initiatives at country offices
- Pace project development, implementation, communications, and change activities to maximize adoption and minimize organizational overwhelm
- Provide analysis and recommendations on change load, organizational capacity, implementation risk, and initiative timing
- Surface cross-functional risks, dependencies, and collisions and support leadership in resolving tradeoffs
- Strengthen visibility, prioritization, and sequencing of strategic initiatives across IJM
- Participate in IJM's community of spiritual formation
- Report to the Chief of Staff to the CEO
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in portfolio management, program management, strategy execution, organizational effectiveness, enterprise transformation, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Experience designing and implementing portfolio management approaches that improve organizational prioritization, coordination, decision-making, and execution
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, facilitate enterprise-level discussions, and build alignment across diverse stakeholders without formal authority
- Demonstrated experience translating strategic priorities into executable plans and governance mechanisms that drive measurable results
- Experience developing practical systems, processes, and tools that increase organizational effectiveness while minimizing unnecessary complexity and administrative burden
- Portfolio management and strategic planning support
- Enterprise prioritization, dependency management, and initiative sequencing
- Organizational capacity planning and change load analysis
- Project and program management methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Data analysis and synthesis to support strategic decision-making
- Executive presentation development, meeting facilitation, and written communications
- Strong proficiency with portfolio management platforms such as Asana, Smartsheet, or similar tools
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint

- Exceptional verbal and written communication
- Statement of faith describing Christian faith, spiritual disciplines, and current fellowship or place of worship
- Current authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available
- Successful background check, police clearance, and reference review
