About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead IRC’s global compensation, benefits, and global mobility strategy and execution
- Align compensation, benefits, and global mobility philosophy, strategy, and plans with IRC’s mission and business objectives
- Develop and maintain understanding of IRC’s vision, mission, values, economic drivers, structure, and culture
- Oversee benchmarking, job evaluation, pay scale development, and administration
- Own compensation guidelines, including philosophy, pay-action eligibility, and boundaries
- Drive annual salary planning reviews, documentation, and training with country directors, executives, and Finance
- Design and manage benefits plans and recurring administration processes
- Own IRC’s job architecture and ensure accurate employee mapping in Workday and other systems
- Lead global mobility policies, practices, and processes across all locations
- Lead, empower, and mentor three direct reports
- Champion adoption, effective use, and change management of AI tools
- Report to the Chief People and Culture Officer
- Collaborate with global P&C, Finance, General Counsel, IT, senior management, executive management, vendors, consultants, legal counsel, and professional networks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fifteen+ years of progressive professional P&C-related experience
- Minimum of 10 years leading compensation, benefits or global mobility team in a global environment
- Experience with U.S. program design, regulatory requirements, market practices and delivery
- Demonstrated success supporting key senior management and building strong, trusted relationships
- Experience with international compensation, benefits or global mobility in a nonprofit/NGO environment preferred
- Exposure to an executive compensation committee preferred
- Experience with global HRIS systems, specifically Workday, preferred
- Experience with U.S. labor unions and global unions/works councils, preferred
- Excellent management and leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management
- Ability to work, manage, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, global environment
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Superb interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across countries, cultures, and departments
- Highly collaborative, inclusive, consultative, and resourceful workstyle
- Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills
- Detailed work planning and superior time management skills
