About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Translate functional requirements and specifications into detailed test plans covering functional, system, integration, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing
Implement Agile software testing with Scrum principles
Ensure testing processes are implemented and followed by core team members
Test and assure the quality of CommCare and Microsoft PowerApps applications
Perform in-depth data testing of Power BI dashboards and underlying data pipelines, including verification across systems, migration, validation, and A/B testing
Review products against design specifications and user experience requirements, including responsive design
Conduct cross-browser, multiplatform, and mobile testing
Plan, implement, and deliver testing according to industry standards, quality expectations, and timelines
Own the assigned project’s testing stream, analyze requirements, identify gaps, write Jira test cases, maintain regression documentation, sign off releases, and perform release smoke tests
Identify application defects, seek resolutions, address process gaps, and recommend functionality and usability improvements
Lead test case review meetings
Communicate testing timelines and help establish realistic release schedules
Raise and appropriately mitigate testing risks
Work closely with project management, developers, product management, business teams, and the wider QA team

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of data application testing experience, including full testing lifecycle and UAT testing support
2+ years of quality assurance experience testing data processes and products, including ETL pipelines and dashboards/reports
2+ years working with CommCare or similar ODK-based platforms, low-code applications, or as an application developer or quality analyst is highly desirable
Performance and load testing experience with open-source tools
1 year of automation experience
Ability to independently lead quality assurance and quality control for a project
Experience testing low- to no-code environments and mobile data collection or case management tools such as CommCare, Ona, Kobo, Microsoft PowerApps, Power BI, and Azure
Understanding and experience with T-SQL, Azure SQL Server, Data Factory, SSIS or other ETL tools, data modeling, and data warehouses
Experience testing multilingual platforms and multicurrency verification preferred
Manual functional, system, automation, and performance testing experience
Experience using Jira for bug and test management
Experience with the full software development process and Agile methodology
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated problem solver; fast and independent learner
Ability to work with distributed teams
Intercultural competence
Bachelor’s degree or experience in computer science or information systems
CSQA, CSTE, or another software testing/quality assurance certification
