About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, develop, and support educational needs of internal and external stakeholders
  • Create and deliver effective training programs for the TRICARE Overseas Program
  • Induct new hires and conduct classroom, virtual, and e-learning orientation sessions
  • Deliver creative training programs for internal and external TRICARE stakeholders
  • Design, develop, update, and maintain training materials, job aids, handouts, e-learnings, and manuals
  • Determine training needs through consultation with managers and employees, job analysis, and performance feedback
  • Identify and address learning issues and educational needs for employees and departments
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging training trends, techniques, tools, and methods
  • Build and deliver refresher training and education programs
  • Evaluate programs and training effectiveness and improve delivery using evaluation data
  • Maintain Learning Management System user data and accurate learning and development records
  • Participate in local and global trainer calibration
  • Maintain and progress a personal development plan
  • Share operational and learning and development best practices
  • Keep operational technical and functional skills current through back-to-the-floor activities
  • Work with the TOP quality team to identify service improvement opportunities using feedback and customer journey outputs
  • Lead or participate in ad hoc projects involving new training programs and platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Effective facilitation skills in formal and informal settings, including one-on-one, small and large groups, peers, direct reports, and leaders
  • Proven experience designing training and education events
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Sound decision-making and organizational skills
  • Ability to present complex information to varied audiences
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
  • Problem-solving, critical-thinking, planning, time-management, attention-to-detail, and decision-making skills
  • Functional and technical knowledge to perform the role at a high level
  • Ability to identify how people learn differently and tailor training approaches
  • Initiative, ownership, customer focus, and commitment to self-development
  • Either experience in training and mentoring, or proficiency in TRICARE Operations case management
  • Recommended minimum 2 years of TRICARE Operational experience
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Occasional domestic or overseas travel to attend TOP training classes, support learning and development initiatives, or quality assurance audits
  • Assist with the TRICARE Fundamentals Course in-residence or complete the TRICARE Online Certification Course
