About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the medical team with patient intakes and inquiries
  • Maintain medical records and perform basic patient screenings
  • Perform medical office administration duties
  • Assist with injections, blood draws, and procedures with an NP or PA
  • Make appointments for personnel attending the clinic
  • Register personnel visiting the facility for consultation
  • Prepare required files
  • Manage and control completion and filing of medical records
  • Prepare correspondence and reports
  • Maintain training records
  • Verify patient information and medical histories by interviewing patients and documenting history
  • Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary physical tests, drug and alcohol screening, pulmonary function tests, and respirator fit tests
  • Assist in injury care and during medical examinations
  • Explain medical testing to patients
  • Take patient vitals
  • Perform phlebotomy services and give injections
  • Conduct EKGs
  • Inventory supplies, place orders, and verify receipt
  • Sterilize medical instruments and equipment
  • Enter patient data into the EMR
  • Assist NP/Paramedics onsite with medical record keeping and data entry

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Teamwork is a MUST
  • Ability to multitask and follow instructions in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to pass a DISA Drug Screen and Background Check
  • 2+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • DOT drug screen trained preferred
  • Occupational Medicine experience preferred
  • Experience completing drug & alcohol testing preferred
  • Breath Alcohol Testing and Urine Specimen Collector; training can be provided
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Medical Assistant experience
  • Must be bilingual with Spanish
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm
