About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of National Account Executives, setting performance goals and monitoring progress
  • Hire, onboard, coach, and provide ongoing development to National Account Executives
  • Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-ones to review performance, pipeline, and broker relationships
  • Ensure the team fosters and maintains strong relationships with existing Mortgage Brokers
  • Serve as an escalation point for client inquiries, concerns, and support
  • Guide the team in identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand the Broker base in the non-Agency wholesale market
  • Support the team in engaging potential clients and presenting Verus’ mortgage products
  • Oversee end-to-end loan application processes and ensure efficient transactions
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and maintenance of state licensing approvals where needed
  • Communicate with underwriters, loan processors, sales, and marketing leadership
  • Conduct and oversee market analysis and contribute to business development strategies
  • Resolve escalated loan-process issues
  • Drive team performance, client satisfaction, and business growth
  • Adapt to changing market conditions and seek innovative service-delivery approaches

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have recent/current experience in non-Agency mortgage sales
  • Prior experience leading or managing a sales team
  • Recent team or individual average monthly funded non-Agency volume of $2m/month or greater preferred
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to thrive in and lead a team within a production-driven environment
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry regulations
  • Proven track record in sales and sales management required
