About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports
  • Assist with property-level asset management decisions and implementation of Asset Management programs
  • Underwrite investment properties, establishing monthly rental rates, property values, and required capital investment
  • Support the capital allocation, budgeting, and planning process
  • Maintain understanding of financial information systems, including writing financial reports and querying data
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecast, analyze, and summarize organizational trends
  • Create ad hoc reports, graphs, and charts of financial data
  • Develop and update models for financial conditions related to Asset and Investment Management, Accounting, and Operations
  • Track, report, and analyze trends in operating areas
  • Prepare and analyze Daily Cash Analysis reports and weekly Cash Forecasting
  • Prepare and analyze Consolidated Reporting to Investor
  • Provide backup to Accounting when required
  • Research real estate markets for potential opportunities
  • Analyze and prepare recommendations to improve investment and management processes
  • Monitor and evaluate financial and operating results
  • Track economic and performance indicators within real estate markets
  • Interpret data for recommendations
  • Complete projects assigned by Asset Management leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Economics, Mathematics or a related field
  • Quantitative degree or supportive coursework preferred
  • 0 to 2+ years of experience in residential asset management or institutional real estate; Single family preferred
  • 0 to 2+ years of experience in extensive, detailed data analysis and reporting
  • Current driver’s license and automobile insurance
  • Comprehension of federal fair housing laws and any applicable local housing provisions
  • Ability to create and design general marketing pieces for in-house production
  • Knowledge of current single-family customer product demands, drivers, and trends
  • Proficiency utilizing Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and basic OS tools
  • Proficiency in a programming language (R or Python preferred)
  • Strong data and financial modeling skills required
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce for workflow and approval management
  • Experience utilizing Yardi or similar property management software
  • Experience utilizing Tableau, PowerBI or other data visualization software
  • Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (SQL) beneficial
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and get along with others
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate presentations or speak in public to large groups of people
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain flexibility and creativity in a variety of situations
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical functions
  • Ability to set and meet goals and consistently meet deadlines
