About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage a software development organization comprising multiple engineering teams
Translate business and organizational strategies into technical roadmaps
Align systems and engineering teams with strategic objectives
Collaborate with Product, Product Design, and Delivery partners to prepare projects
Identify project opportunities, risks, priorities, scope, and cross-functional concerns
Guide exploration, design, documentation, and communication for system architecture, APIs, messages, and third-party interfaces
Foster a collaborative, generative culture supporting individual creativity
Coach, mentor, provide feedback, and support career development
Measure system and engineering team performance and prioritize improvements
Guide teams in delivering technical projects while maintaining accountability
Monitor technology trends, encourage innovation, experiment with new technologies, and participate in technology groups

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of professional development experience
3+ years of recent experience managing or leading an engineering team
Experience working in an agile development environment
Deep understanding of software and development engineering principles and concepts
Deep technical skills in one or more of: JavaScript development, database technologies (MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB), AWS serverless, CI/CD, Salesforce
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced work environment
Sound judgment and swift decision-making skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to collaborate and build consensus
Knowledge of system design, data structures, and algorithms
Experience with distributed/scalable systems and high-volume applications
Commitment to continuing education in current and emerging technologies
