About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a small number of carefully selected lighthouse channel and reseller partners across the Americas
  • Build relationships with resellers, distributors, systems integrators, and telecommunications partners
  • Pursue IonQ’s compute, networking, security, sensing, space, and merchant-services portfolio
  • Drive quantum opportunities with global partners in the region, including hyperscalers and consulting firms
  • Engage local partner teams, qualify customers, and co-sell early engagements
  • Prioritize markets and lighthouse partners based on customer access, executive commitment, technical capacity, procurement capability, and willingness to invest
  • Build partner plans with named customers, committed resources, and first-win milestones
  • Originate and progress quantum opportunities with local hyperscaler teams and advisory practices
  • Coordinate regional pursuits within shared account plans and run pursuit and pipeline reviews
  • Engage global sponsorship, specialist resources, and commercial frameworks for local opportunities
  • Work alongside partners through discovery, qualification, use-case selection, proposals, negotiation, and close
  • Coordinate with Field Engineering, Partner Engineering, and Platform Sales Specialists
  • Support local procurement and complex sovereign or regulated-market pursuits
  • Build reusable success stories and playbooks
  • Own a disciplined regional partner forecast and track opportunities with local and global contributions
  • Work with Programs and Marketing to turn lighthouse lessons into reusable tools and GTM approaches
  • Replicate successful approaches and selectively add partners based on evidence and support capacity
  • Deliver referenceable wins, qualified customer engagements, technical and commercial outcomes, and repeatable partner motions within the first year

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years in regional channel sales or strategic partner management
  • Productive reseller, SI, distributor, or telecommunications partner relationships
  • Strong regional market knowledge and ability to activate local teams of global partners
  • Experience jointly managing opportunities with global alliance owners and direct Sales
  • Relevant regional languages and relationships in priority markets: US and Latin America; Europe and MENA; or APJ, including Korea, Japan and Singapore
  • Proven track record of developing focused, early-stage partnerships into scalable channels delivering sustained revenue growth
  • Commercial expertise in frontier or emerging technology
  • Experience translating uncertain capabilities, evolving roadmaps, and customer needs into staged adoption plans
  • Record of building deep partnerships and personally co-selling early customer engagements through discovery, qualification, solution development, negotiation, and close
  • Experience converting early engagements into approved references, reusable solution patterns, and repeatable partner sales motions
  • Cross-cultural communication, executive communication, commercial negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Pipeline qualification, forecasting, and investment prioritization discipline
  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally
  • Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Quantum experience, sovereign or regulated-market experience, public-sector procurement, or international trade compliance are preferred qualifications
