About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain the financial statements for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Conduct monthly variance analysis
- Manage weekly cash activities, including weekly check runs and tenant outreach on rent timing
- Perform monthly partnership distribution and cash call analysis
- Meet monthly with property managers to discuss and report on property issues and financials
- Perform quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
- Review quarterly capital expenditures within the property portfolio
- Prepare quarterly cash flow forecasts
- Assist with annual property budgets
- Assist with annual CAM reconciliations for tenants
- Assist with annual tax returns and audits
- Assist with ad hoc accounting and property management projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the commercial real estate industry
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Understanding of variance analysis when comparing actual to budget
- Strong Microsoft computer skills
- Experience with MRI software is a plus
- Flexibility to support ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned
- Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening after a conditional offer
