About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain tooling for engineers’ local development environments
  • Make builds and tests faster and more reliable
  • Troubleshoot build and CI failures
  • Improve Kubernetes tooling so product teams can make routine application changes independently

  • Support releases through Kargo and improve release automation

  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Own scoped improvements from investigation through rollout with guidance from Senior and Staff engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2–4 years of software engineering experience, including internships or significant projects
  • A formal degree is not required
  • Programming experience in TypeScript or JavaScript, plus Go or Python
  • Comfort with shell scripting and the command line
  • Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD concepts
  • Interest in developer tooling and infrastructure
  • Clear communication and strong collaboration skills

  • Helpful: Kubernetes, Docker, or SRE practices such as monitoring and incident response
  • Helpful: webpack, Jest, Vitest, Bazel, or Backstage
