About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide hands-on technical support as the primary contact for reactive, ticket-based service desk work
- Respond to support requests by phone, email, Teams, or ticketing system
- Categorize, prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming issues
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Research unfamiliar problems, test solutions, and identify root causes
- Support Windows and macOS environments, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 administration
- Use AI tools and automation to improve troubleshooting and reduce busy work
- Flex into IT projects, security, and networking as needed
- Document issues, attempted solutions, and resolutions
- Communicate with clients in plain language, set expectations, and follow up through resolution
- Collaborate with other engineers and learn from their problem-solving approaches
- Identify recurring issues and recommend root-cause improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Some real, hands-on experience with computers, networks, or technology, including professional IT work, an MSP help desk, military or technical training, or a serious self-taught or home lab background
- Track record of figuring things out, including building, fixing, automating, or repairing something independently
- Basic understanding of Windows environments, networking fundamentals, and common business applications
- Comfortable using AI tools such as Copilot or Claude to research, troubleshoot, or automate work
- Strong ownership mentality
- Good judgment when making changes that affect a client's environment
- Clear, patient communication with nontechnical people
- Coachable and willing to ask questions
- Reliable and able to contribute from day one
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ completed or actively being pursued is a bonus
- Experience with AI tools, scripting, automations, home labs, networks, servers, VMs, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, firewalls, VPNs, MSP support, or client-facing IT support is a bonus
- Reliable transportation
- Able to lift 50 or more pounds
