About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and drive the operational performance of ITV's enterprise network service
- Set SLAs and KPIs and report performance against them
- Manage network managed service providers and key suppliers
- Develop and execute the sourcing strategy for network operations
- Lead incident management escalation for major network events
- Ensure swift resolution and robust root cause analysis
- Manage network operational and change budgets
- Champion NetDevOps practices, automation, self-healing infrastructure, and reduced manual toil
- Embed observability, telemetry, and automated alerting into operations
- Drive infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines for network changes
- Use performance data, customer feedback, and market insights to inform service strategy
- Build relationships across Group Technology, ITV Studios, and broadcast operations
- Lead, motivate, and develop the network operations team and supplier ecosystem
- Partner with network engineering and architecture leadership to evolve the service model
- Support Delivery Managers with network change projects and operational readiness
- Report on service performance, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience managing network services in a complex, multi-site enterprise environment
- Strong supplier and vendor management experience, particularly in networking/telecommunications
- Demonstrable understanding of routing/switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud networking
- Experience working in or transitioning to a NetDevOps/DevOps operating model
- Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, Python, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code concepts
- Strong commercial acumen, including operational budget management and cost-effective sourcing decisions
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement at senior leadership level
- Experience with ITIL or similar service management frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Media, broadcast, or entertainment technology sector experience desirable
- Familiarity with Nautobot, SolarWinds, ELK stack, or Splunk desirable
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and hybrid networking desirable
- Relevant ITIL, Prince, Agile, Cisco, or equivalent certifications desirable
- Line management or cross-functional virtual team leadership experience desirable
- Multi-vendor network environment experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper desirable
