About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver the technical implementation of ITV’s data platform with product owners, architects, and end users
  • Help design, build and maintain Data Products delivering critical analytical data
  • Solve interesting and difficult technical challenges
  • Maintain a common set of tools and standards
  • Empower Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts to own operation, performance and availability of data services
  • Ensure the Data Platform remains secure, well governed and well managed
  • Build new platform capabilities with self-service in mind
  • Monitor the platform to identify issues before stakeholders are affected
  • Automate wherever possible

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure & platforms (ideally GCP)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code, containerisation, automation and monitoring tools
  • Experience using version control tools (git)
  • Experience designing, building and operating highly available, highly scalable systems
  • Understanding of data platforms and tooling in the data domain
  • Working knowledge of Unix based OS (Mac/Linux)
  • Experience using a scripting programming language (e.g. python, ruby)
  • Passion for working within an agile, multidisciplinary DevOps team
  • Team player who works well with colleagues through sharing and collaboration
  • Clear communicator who is happy to have work critiqued
  • Analytical thinker who enjoys solving complex design challenges
