About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze and qualify the needs of clinics and internal clients.
- Provide veterinary expertise when defining requirements and drafting specifications.
- Analyze changes in internal needs and developments in the veterinary market.
- Define forecast budgets, selection criteria, and sourcing strategies.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Group’s direct procurement strategies.
- Maintain and develop a medically and commercially optimized veterinary catalogue.
- Identify cost optimization and reduction opportunities.
- Identify, qualify, and rationalize the supplier base.
- Participate in sourcing consultations and tenders, requests for quotations, and bid analysis.
- Prepare supplier negotiations with the Procurement teams.
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance with contractual commitments.
- Manage disputes and situations involving non-compliance with contractual clauses.
- Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of supplier contracts.
- Monitor procurement budgets and report on activities.
- Develop and monitor performance and compliance indicators.
- Conduct annual supplier performance reviews.
- Develop and monitor recommendations for clinics.
- Support clinics in implementing procurement policies and recommendations.
- Keep internal clients informed of project progress and measure their satisfaction.
- Present analyses and recommendations to management teams.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new clinics on direct procurement matters, in collaboration with the M&A teams.
- Analyze their purchasing terms, identify optimization opportunities, and integrate these organizations into the Group’s procurement strategies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong knowledge of the veterinary sector and its product landscape is essential.
- Background in veterinary medicine or relevant experience in the veterinary field, for example as a veterinarian or in a role closely related to veterinary products and services.
- Good knowledge of veterinary medicines, products and services, and pet food, as well as the market’s key players.
- Comfortable analyzing data and working with tracking spreadsheets.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and present technical or product-related topics clearly and accessibly.
- Professional English proficiency, enabling communication with international stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and maturity in professional interactions.
- Diplomacy and the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
- Rigour and strong organizational skills, particularly when managing numerous topics and reports.
- Autonomy and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively and connect medical, operational, and procurement priorities.
