About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate resident care and medication management under the medical direction and supervision of attending physicians
  • Communicate with physicians, discharge planners, nurses, state agencies, and other healthcare professionals regarding resident care needs
  • Coordinate incidental medical, dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care
  • Perform nursing duties within the appropriate scope of the Nurse Practice Act
  • Administer medications and perform physician-ordered treatments
  • Oversee and provide necessary training for Medication Technicians
  • Conduct resident pre-admission assessments and routine or as-needed reassessments
  • Interview potential residents and families and obtain medical records and Title 22 admission requirements
  • Conduct staff interviews
  • Continuously observe residents and report physical or emotional health changes to the Executive Director, responsible party, and others
  • Provide the Executive Director with information regarding care staff's ability to meet resident needs
  • Support resident independence and individualized comprehensive care

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) holding a valid California nursing license in good standing
  • Prefer two (2) years of experience working in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees
  • Able to obtain a valid Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
  • Able to effectively teach/train staff
  • Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must pass a criminal background clearance before beginning work
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification
  • Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
  • Flexibility to work holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary
  • Must work on site
