About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate resident care and medication management under the medical direction and supervision of attending physicians
- Communicate with physicians, discharge planners, nurses, state agencies, and other community healthcare professionals regarding resident care needs
- Coordinate incidental medical, dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care
- Perform nursing duties within the appropriate scope of the Nurse Practice Act
- Administer medications and perform physician-ordered treatments
- Oversee and provide necessary training for Medication Technicians
- Conduct resident pre-admission assessments and routine or as-needed reassessments
- Interview potential residents and families
- Obtain medical records and other Title 22 admission requirements
- Conduct staff interviews
- Continually observe residents and report changes in physical or emotional health
- Inform the Executive Director about the care staff’s ability to meet resident needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) holding a valid California nursing license in good standing
- Prefer two (2) years of experience working in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
- Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees
- Able to obtain a valid Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) qualification
- Able to effectively teach/train staff
- Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must pass a criminal background clearance before beginning work
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
- Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification
- Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
- Must be flexible to work holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary
- Must work Tuesday–Saturday generally
- Must comply with applicable vaccination, screening, surveillance testing, and PPE requirements when required by regulatory guidelines
