About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate resident care and medication management under the medical direction and supervision of attending physicians
- Communicate with community healthcare professionals, including physicians, discharge planners, nurses, and state agencies, regarding resident care needs
- Coordinate incidental medical, dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care for residents
- Perform nursing duties within the appropriate scope of the Nurse Practice Act, including administering medications and physician-ordered treatments
- Oversee and provide necessary training for Medication Technicians
- Administer pre-admission assessments and complete routine and as-needed reassessments according to company policy and state regulations
- Interview potential residents and families and obtain medical records and other Title 22 admission requirements
- Conduct staff interviews and continually observe residents to identify changes in physical or emotional health
- Alert the Executive Director, responsible party, and others about resident health changes
- Provide the Executive Director with information about care staff’s ability to meet resident needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) holding a valid California nursing license in good standing
- Prefer two (2) years of experience working in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
- Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees
- Able to obtain a valid Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
- Able to effectively teach/train staff
- Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must pass a criminal background clearance before beginning work
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
- Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification
- Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
- May be required to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings and other PPE per regulatory guidelines
